Cooperation in plastic reduction and sustainable consumption

The project’s main aim is to strengthen cooperation and experience exchange of Baltic and Nordic NGOs to promote sustainable consumption and plastic prevention through education with aim to reduce plastic pollution, protecting the environment and health of the Baltic Sea region.

Main activities and results:

  • study visit to Stockholm to strengthen cooperation between NGOs in Sweden, Latvia and Estonia, exchange of knowledge and experience in educational methods about plastic pollution, circular economy and sustainable consumption.
  • educational kit to increase teachers’ capacity to integrate environmental topics into everyday teaching through the developed educational lesson materials and practical plastic inventory tool.
  • application of the plastic inventory tool and development realistic plastic reduction plans to improve pupil awareness of plastic pollution.
  • online seminar for teachers to transfer knowledge and experience from pilot schools in Latvia and Estonia, encouraging wider adoption and long-term use of the educational kit in schools.
  • awareness raising campaign through targeted communication activities to promote environmentally sustainable behavior and transition towards a circular economy.
  • project visibility has been ensured, and the project results have been prepared and disseminated.
