Chemicals and consumer awereness
Chemicals are all around us, they may ease our everyday life but at the same time they have an impact on us. Therefore, management of chemical risks is one of the high priotity issues on European and international level, but also for Baltic Environemental Forum. This is inevitably complex field demanding great resources as well as very good cooperation between public institutions, industries, entreprises and consumers. Our aim is to raise awareness and knowledge, exchange know-how, build capacity and initiate a dialogue. Workshops, meetings and trainings contribute to our goal of minimizing environmental burden posed by chemicals and industrial pollutants.

+Climate change mitigation and adaptation
Climate change mitigation and adaptation have been important topics for the Baltic Environmental Forum for many years. We have contributed to adaptation to climate change at both national and local levels. The preparation of climate plans will remain one of the topics of interest to us in the coming years. In addition, we also consider it important to continue to introduce sustainable stormwater systems in urban areas.

Nature conservation and biodiversity
Projects on nature conservation have a long tradition and are an important constituent of the work of the BEF Group since it was established. We have implemented very wide range of projects that are related with nature conservation and biodiversity, amongst others projects on boreal forests, protection of endangered species and protecting the Baltic Sea. A focus of our work is on aspects of nature conservation and society, as well as communication of nature conservation issues.

Sustainable mobility
Our aim is to make Estonian cities more eco-friendly and to promote sustainable mobility as a way to reach that goal. Sustainable solutions in the field of transportation can only be found through good planning, durable adaption of individual mobility patterns and suitable economic and political instruments. Baltic Environmental Forum has so far helped to increase capacity in this field through different publications, seminars and trainings.
